And just like that, we are headed into Week Four of the Shitsuke (Coed) Flag Football League. And teams are starting to really kick things up a notch. Or three!
The past Sunday’s game gave us more thrill and excitement and plenty to cheer for. We saw offenses come out and put up big points and we also got to see some very exciting defensive plays.
Game 1 – The early game gave us a match-up that was billed as the game of the week, between Team Trogons and Team Gidirons and they did not disappoint. Both teams
came out with plenty of excitement and fire-power and went into the game with the determination to outscore each other. Team Gidirons went up early with two quick touchdown passes by their all star quarterback, Sina. But after a very shaky start, Team Trogons got back in the game with their quarterback throwing a few touchdowns of his own. It was a close game till late in the third quarter when Trogons got a touchdown and an extra point to go up by one score. Team Gidirons tried to even the score, but a few turn-overs seemed to derail their attempt at a comeback. Nonetheless, it was still a vey exciting game that ended 36-29 in favor of Team Trogons, ended the undefeated run of Team Gidirons.
Game 2 – The late game was between Team Anubis and Team Black Panthers. Anubis were trying to keep their winning record and Black Panther wanted to end their losing streak. Team Anubis took control of the game, right from kickoff. Team Anubis were able to get their offense going and were able to score the highest points of any game, this season – 43. Led by their quarterback, Jake O, team Anubis had multiple scoring chances and were able to convert on more than a few. Their defense also helped by getting them the ball back and forcing more than a few “3 & outs” by Black Panthers. Team Black Panther continue to show plenty of life but continue to struggle to put up points in the league. The final score was 43-16 in favor of Team Anubis.
