Swashbuckling Gidirons bounce back!
Sina, The Gidirons starting quarterback, is a winner. The 1x All Star player and 1x All Star Game MVP doesn’t have many bad days in the office. He currently leads the league in touchdown passes (20)* and his go to weapons are fellow All Star players Howard and Gidirons co-owner, Babse with 4 and 8 touchdowns respectively. The Gidirons had suffered two straight losses and in their effort to bounce back and mount a championship run, they had to come away with a win against a Black Panther team with the league’s worst record at 0-4-0.
Under the calm, yet ironically, fiery leadership of Sina, The Gidirons did just that. Early passes to new offensive acquisition PJ welcomed him to the fast paced league and Sina was doing what he does best… distribute his passes to all his teammates.
As expected, the quarterback-centre tandem of Sina and Babse worked to perfection with early completions for huge gains and sublime touchdown passes, The Gidirons were cruising early. Black Panther had a response to unsettle the composure of Sina, with a series of blitzes that seemed to rattle Sina, but like water off a duck’s back Sina pulled his magic cards with well executed touchdown passes to Bisola and she did her part of making sure the highlight reels wouldn’t forget her anytime soon, not once, but twice she showed why she is the weapon she’s touted to be.
With the bye week giving teams some more time to sharpen their routes and plays, you can only imagine how much sharper Sina and his arsenal of receivers will be against the Trogons (who are coming off another loss, 29-38, against the Anubis).
The Gidirons are now 3-2-0 and will be squaring up against the Trogons, also 3-2-0 on Sunday, 08-04-2018. It should be an electric game, to say the least.
